Introduction

Hello and welcome, I have collected Shallowpool dolls for some time and as my collection has grown so has my interest in the history of the dolls. There has been very little recorded and certainly no one has listed the full range of dolls created by the three ladies who started the cottage industry in the early 1950's.
I hope to eventually list, photograph and describe many of the dolls that were created in the workshop in the small village of Shallowpool, near Looe in Cornwall.
I am grateful to everyone who has been kind enough to share their photos, answer my questions and respond to my letters, especially to Susan Brewer for her help information and permission to show her collection. I'd also like to thank Robert and his parents who now own Shallowpool, for their information and kindness in allowing me to visit the place it all began.
If anyone has any dolls in their collection not mentioned or any information, I'd love to hear from them.
